Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 138 in Antelope Valley Sends 8 People to Hospital

 
ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA (September 20, 2022) – Eight people were injured in a car accident on Highway 138 in Antelope Valley on Saturday afternoon, September 17.
 
The accident happened around 3:01 p.m. at the intersection with 170th Street West. According to the California Highway Patrol, an Audi was heading southbound on 178th Street West when it ran a stop sign. It then struck a white Dodge Town & Country minivan that was traveling eastbound on Highway 138.
 
There were eight people inside the minivan, and only one escaped injury.
 
One person with critical injuries and four with severe injuries were flown to hospitals. A ground ambulance took the other two patients with moderate injuries.
 
The driver of the Audi was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was factor. Further investigation is underway.
 
When approaching a stop sign, make sure to slow down and come to a complete stop just before the sign. Scan for any oncoming vehicles, and keep an eye out for possible road hazards. Also, practice defensive driving when entering intersections.
