Fatal Head-On Accident on Vanden Road near Cannon Road in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, CA (June 22, 2022) – One person died following a head-on car accident on Vanden Road on Monday afternoon.
According to the Fairfield Police Department, the incident happened on June 20, at about 4:00 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle crossed double yellow lines. Then, the vehicle crashed into a car carrier near Cannon Road.
Emergency crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The Solano County Coroner’s Office is withholding the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, responders closed Vanden Road between Cannon Road and Leisure Town Road to make way for clearing operations and an investigation. As per reports, affected areas were reopened at 8:45 p.m.
Fairfield police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
