Bicyclist John Story Dies after Colliding with Vehicle on Bristol Street in Santa Ana

 
SANTA ANA, CA (June 21, 2022) – A man riding a bicycle was hit and killed by a vehicle at Bristol Street and Edinger Avenue in Santa Ana on Saturday morning, June 18.
 
67-year-old John Story was identified after the accident, according to the Orange County coroner’s office. His city of residence was not available.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bristol Street and Edinger Avenue. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, it appeared the cyclist – Story – was southbound on Bristol Street while the vehicle was eastbound on Edinger Avenue before the two crashed.
 
As a result, Story suffered significant injuries. Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
 
The vehicle’s driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
At this time, there is no indication that speed or intoxication were factors. Police asked anyone with further information to call Cpl. W. Hadley at 714-245-8216.
