UPDATE: Gonzalo Torres Killed in Head-On Accident on Vanden Road [Fairfield, CA]

Fatal Head-On Accident on Vanden Road near Cannon Road in Fairfield, Gonzalo Torres Identified

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (June 29, 2022) – One person died following a head-on car accident on Vanden Road on Monday, June 20.
 
The Solano County Coroner’s Office identified the deceases as 70-year-old Gonzalo Torres of Suisun City.
 
According to the Fairfield Police Department, the incident happened at about 4:00 p.m. Torres drove his Toyota Camry southbound on Vanden Road when he somehow crossed into oncoming traffic. As a result, the Toyota struck a car carrier trailer near Cannon Road.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Torres at the scene.
 
The trailer driver was not injured and stayed at the scene with police.
 
Tesponders closed Vanden Road between Cannon Road and Leisure Town Road to make way for clearing operations and an investigation. As per reports, the affected areas were reopened at 8:45 p.m.
 
Fairfield police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
