SYLMAR, CA (April 16, 2024) — Three children suffered severe injuries in a minivan accident on the 5 Freeway near Highway 14.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened around 7:50 p.m. Sunday. For unknown reasons, a minivan driver lost control and slammed into the center divider. Subsequently, CHP officers and firefighters responded to the scene and found one person trapped in the wreckage.
 
As a result of the crash, four people, including three children, suffered serious wounds.
