Jacob Fuerte Dies in Possible Hit-and-Run Multi-Car Crash on Highway 101 near Campo de Cahuenga

 
STUDIO CITY, CA (April 16, 2024) — Jacob Fuerte died in a suspected hit-and-run multi-car accident on Highway 101 near Campo de Cahuenga.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fatal multi-car crash happened around 5:00 a.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, several vehicles collided, including a car, a Jeep Wrangler and a truck towing portable restrooms. Subsequently, one of the occupants — Los Angeles Fire Department recruit Jacob Fuerte — likely exited his car to assess the crash and check on the victims. However, moments later, a vehicle struck him and possibly fled the scene. Soon after, paramedics responded but the 22-year-old recruit firefighter who was on week 10 of a 20-week training program passed away at the scene.
 
Now, loved ones are mourning this painful loss, including his father a 17-year veteran of the LAFD.
