Man Dies in Mission Avenue Pedestrian Crash in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (April 17, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Mission Avenue near Ocean Pointe Road.
 
According to Oceanside Police officers, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 9:00 p.m. Monday. Under unclear circumstances, an eastbound Nissan Murano struck the man, who was crossing Mission Avenue near Ocean Pointe Road. Subsequently, a second driver ran over the 45-year-old male victim.
 
Minutes later, Oceanside Police and paramedics responded to the busy Oceanside thoroughfare to find the victim with fatal injuries. Officials did not release his name pending notification of family members.
 
Following the crash, both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators who claimed that neither impairment nor speed factored into the cause.
