62-Year-Old Bicyclist Seriously Hurt by Car on Kirkham Road in Poway

 
POWAY, CA (October 28, 2022) – A 62-year-old bicyclist sustained injuries after he was hit by a car on Kirkham Road on Thursday morning.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on October 27 at about 8:00 a.m. An eastbound vehicle reportedly struck the bicyclist in the 12100 block of Kirkham Road.
 
Emergency crews transported the bicyclist to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of serious injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old driver remained at the scene and rendered aid to the victim.
 
Investigators believe that the vision of the driver might have been impaired by the morning sun at the time of the collision.
 
Sheriff’s officials continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
