3-Year-Old Girl Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Westminster, Driver Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter

 
WESTMINSTER, CA (January 9, 2023) – Police arrested Bautista Decastilla after hitting and killing a 3-year-old girl in Westminster on Friday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on January 6, at Goldenwest Street and 21st Street. According to the Westminster Police Department, the 26-year-old suspect from Westminster was driving a vehicle when he struck the child at the intersection.
 
First responders rushed the child to Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where the victim succumbed to her injuries.
 
Meanwhile, Decastilla voluntarily came to the Westminster Police Department for an evaluation and to speak with investigators. He was then arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving without a license, police said.
