30-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (January 25, 2024) – Andres Garcia was hit and killed by a car in Oxnard Tuesday evening on January 23.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p.m. on Vineyard Avenue at Stroube Street. According to the Oxnard Police Department, Garcia was crossing Vineyard Avenue when he was struck by a four-door sedan that was heading north on Vineyard.
 
As a result, Garcia suffered severe injuries. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was 30 years old, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
A spokesperson described Garcia as homeless.
 
Police said there was no evidence alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
