2 Hospitalized in Imperial Beach Rollover Crash on Palm Avenue

 
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA (February 28, 2023) — Two people suffered serious injuries in a rollover accident on Palm Avenue near Highway 75.
 
According to San Diego County Sheriff’s officials, the single-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a male driver lost control of an eastbound Toyota RAV4 on Palm Avenue. At a high rate of speed, the Toyota struck a curb, rolled over and hit multiple light posts before coming to a stop in the eastbound lanes.
 
A bystander helped pull a female occupant of the car out of the wreckage. Moments after, fire crews arrived and used the Jaws of Life to extricate the male driver.
 
Due to their injuries, paramedics brought both minors to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
A witness told authorities that the driver struck a bicyclist, but authorities located no cyclists near the scene.
