2 Die in Multi-Car Crash on Elkhorn Boulevard in North Highlands

 
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (February 5, 2024) — Two people died in a 3-car accident on Elkhorn Boulevard near Andrea Boulevard.
 
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the fatal crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a man in his 30s piloting an eastbound Honda made an unsafe lane change. Subsequently, the Honda struck an eastbound Nissan, sending both vehicles into the westbound lane where they collided with a Ford vehicle.
 
Minutes later, paramedics arrived and confirmed the Honda driver and Ford driver deceased on arrival. Officials did not release their names pending notification of family members.
 
Upon assessing the surviving victims, medics took the Nissan driver and a 50-year-old Ford passenger to a hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
 
At the time of the report, Sacramento Metro Fire did not suspect Sunday’s weather to have played a factor, but they are looking into whether alcohol did.
