Fatal Azusa Bicycle Crash with Motorcycle Officer on Cienega Avenue

AZUSA, CA (February 2, 2022) — One person died in a bicycle accident with a motorcycle officer on Cienega Avenue at Sunflower Avenue on Monday evening.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal motorcycle and bicycle crash happened around 9:10 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, an Azusa Police Department Officer riding a motorcycle struck a bicyclist near the intersection.
 
Soon after, paramedics reached the scene and brought the cyclist and officer to a hospital where the bicyclist died.
 
As of now, the officer appears to be in stable condition.
 
At this time, the details of the crash require additional investigation. However, anyone with information should reach out to the CHP.
