Human Trafficking Suspect Crashes During Koreatown Chase, One Killed and Two Others in Critical Condition

 
KOREATOWN, CA (September 6, 2021) – One person died and two other people suffered critical injuries after a police pursuit near Wilton Place and Sixth Street.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:35 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, near Koreatown in Los Angeles. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division’s Vice Unit were pursuing an alleged human trafficking suspects in a Mercedes-Benz sedan.
 
The pursuit lasted only about two minutes before the Mercedes slammed into three other vehicles.
 
As a result of the crash, an innocent male driver of a pickup truck died at the scene.
 
Two other drivers were rushed to nearby hospitals with critical injuries. A passenger in the pickup truck was also taken to a hospital, but has since been released.
 
Police later took the two suspects into custody. However, an investigation into this incident is ongoing.
