Police Arrest Davin Chavez for DUI after Rollover Crash in Redding

 
REDDING, CA (March 22, 2022) – Police arrested Davin Chavez for DUI after a rollover crash in Redding, early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 1:00 a.m. on March 18 at Placer Street and San Francisco Street.
 
According to the Redding Police Department, the 23-year-old suspect was driving a vehicle westbound on Placer Street at high speeds when he drove off the road and hit a boulder. His vehicle then rolled over several times before coming to a stop at the intersection.
 
When officers arrived, they were able to help Chavez out of the vehicle, but unable to get the female passenger out.
 
Firefighters arrived and extricated the woman from the vehicle and took her to Mercy Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Police later arrested Chavez and booked him into the Shasta County Jail for driving on a suspended license and DUI causing bodily injury.
 
Further investigation into this crash is underway.
