INDIAN WELLS, CA (September 28, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident near Highway 111 in Indian Wells Saturday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 5:15 a.m. on September 25, near the intersection with Desert Horizons Drive. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
After the impact, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The coroner’s office did not release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene, cooperated with authorities and did not appear to be impaired.
 
Crews shut down a stretch of Highway 111 while they cleared the wreckage. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
