Pedestrian Eugene Ray III Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Indian Wells

 
INDIAN WELLS, CA (September 29, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at Highway 111 and Desert Horizons Drive on Saturday, September 25.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 5:15 a.m. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 37-year-old Eugene Ray III was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
Officials arrived to discover Ray III died at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, cooperated with police, and showed no signs of impairment.
 
Crews shut down a stretch of Highway 111 while they cleared the wreckage. However, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
