Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 210 Freeway in Pasadena

 
PASADENA, CA (August 2, 2021) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on Foothill (210) Freeway Sunday.
 
The accident happened around 9:05 p.m. on August 1, at Lake Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking along the eastbound freeway when a vehicle struck them.
 
First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
The fatal crash temporarily shut down at least three freeway lanes for the investigation. The CHP issued a SigAlert on the freeway at 9:36 p.m.
 
It is unknown if the involved driver remained or fled the scene after the crash. It also unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor.
