Police Searching for Driver of Pickup Truck Found near Fatal Scene on 15 Freeway in Temecula

 
TEMECULA, CA (August 2, 2021) – A woman was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash on 15 Freeway in Temecula early Saturday morning.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to a call of a traffic collision around 4:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway at the Rancho California Road overpass. When they arrived, they found a female body in the first and second lanes. They also located a pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150, stopped within the center median, near the body.
 
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Witnesses later told investigators that the driver was standing outside his vehicle and appeared emotionally distraught. They described the driver as a Hispanic male, age 35 to 45, between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with dark hair and wearing what appeared to be a gray T-shirt with the letters USMC.
 
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call the CHP’s Temecula office at 951-506-2000.
