Susan Fernandez Killed in Hit-and-Run on El Camino Real [San Clemente, CA]

Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on El Camino Real at Boca De La Playa

 
SAN CLEMENTE, CA (April 18, 2021) – Susan Fernandez was killed in a hit-and-run Wednesday evening in San Clemente.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. on April 14 at El Camino Real and Boca De La Playa. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the 61-year-old San Clemente woman was in the area when a motorcycle struck her.
 
As a result, Fernandez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist flee the scene after hitting the victim. They provided deputies a description of the motorcycle.
 
Approximately 30 minutes later, patrol deputies located the motorcycle in a nearby neighborhood. They arrested the rider, 38-year-old Adam Horner of San Clemente,on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. They booked him at Orange County Jail in leu of $50,000 bail, according to jail records.
 
It is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
OCSD Major Accident Reconstruction Team (MART) is continuing to investigate the hit-and-run, the department said.
