Fatal Car Accident on Lincoln Boulevard in South Oroville

 
SOUTH OROVILLE, CA (April 19, 2021) – One person was killed Thursday morning after a car accident on Lincoln Boulevard near Virginia Avenue.
 
The accident happened around 8:24 a.m. on April 13. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle carrying two people collided into a power pole for unknown reasons. It then went into the garage of a nearby house.
 
The CHP’s incident page said both occupants were out of the vehicle at 8:44 a.m. and CPR was being performed on the passenger.
 
Sadly, one of the patients did not survive and died at the scene. The other suffered major injuries.
 
Pacific Gas & Electric Co. also responded to the scene to work on the affected utility lines. PG&E’s outage map reported 605 customers’ power was affected by the crash, an area which included Las Plumas High School and Oakdale Heights Elementary School.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating to determine the ultimate cause of the crash.
