Yang Yang Liu Dies in Pasadena Pedestrian Accident

 
PASADENA, CA (December 3, 2021) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Allen Avenue at San Pasqual Street on Friday, November 26.
 
33-year-old Yang Yang Liu of Pasadena died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.
 
According to Lt. Anthony Burgess, the fatal accident occurred around 11:20 a.m. Police believe the driver of a 2007 BMW 328i was heading south on Allen Avenue, potentially driving faster than the posted speed limit.
 
The BMW ran a stop sign at the intersection with San Pasqual Street and hit Liu who was crossing that street.
 
As the intersection is clearly marked, police believe the driver either missed it or was not paying attention. In addition to the stop sign, there is also a sign before the intersection telling drivers there is an upcoming stop sign.
 
The driver did not leave the scene and was cooperative with the police. At this time, the driver, a 20-year-old Pasadena man, was not arrested or cited.
 
However, Pasadena police are conducting an investigation.
