Woman Dies in Silver Lake Solo-Car Accident on Highway 101

 
SILVER LAKE, CA (August 22, 2022) — A woman died in a solo-car accident on Highway 101 near Rosemont Avenue Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened around 2:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 30-year-old man driving northbound on the highway veered out of control. Subsequently, the car crashed into the right shoulder barrier before the car ruptured into flames.
 
Soon after, Good Samaritans pulled over and rescued one injured person from the vehicle. Unfortunately, a woman, described as a 30-year-old, died in the crash. The 30-year-old driver suffered major injuries.
 
At this time, the fatal victim’s name and the ultimate cause of the accident were unavailable. If anyone has more information on this deadly crash, please call the CHP.
