Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Bethel Avenue in Selma

 
SELMA, CA (August 22, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Bethel Avenue and Rose Avenue late Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 16-year-old driving a westbound truck slammed into a 23-year-old man wearing dark-colored clothing.
 
Shortly after, the teen drove home less than a mile from the crash. Moments later, the teen’s parents learned of the accident and contacted 911 before returning to the scene.
 
Tragically, the pedestrian died in the accident. CHP officers do not believe alcohol and drugs played a factor in the crash. In addition, they have not confirmed if the teenager would face any charges.
