Driver Dead after Multi-Vehicle Accident on 215 Freeway near La Cadena Drive in Highgrove

 
HIGHGROVE, CA (July 4, 2022) – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 215 Freeway, early Saturday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 2 shortly before 6:00 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, three vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the freeway near La Cadena Drive.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the driver of the sedan dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
It is unknown if any other occupants sustained injuries.
 
Responders temporarily closed affected areas to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
