Woman Killed, Man Injured in Accident on Taft Highway at Old River Road [Bakersfield, CA]

Traffic Accident on Taft Highway in Bakersfield Leaves Woman Dead, Husband Injured

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 10, 2021) – A woman died and a man was injured in an accident on Taft Highway in Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon, June 8.
 
The accident happened around 1:56 p.m. just north of Old River Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a tan pickup truck was traveling north on Old River when it veered onto Taft Highway for unknown reasons. A semi-truck traveling eastbound then hit the pickup.
 
As a result, the female driver of the pickup suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Her identity was not immediately available.
 
The passenger of the pickup, the woman’s husband, was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
 
An investigation into this fatal accident is ongoing.
