Fatal High-Speed Car Accident on Highway 41

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (February 3, 2021) – A woman died in a high-speed car accident Wednesday, January 20 on Highway 41 just after 10:30 p.m. near Stratford.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Toyota Highlander was traveling at a high rate of speed along northbound Highway 41. The car then lost control, hit a guardrail and went into the canal, which was filled with about five feet of water.
 
Dive teams from the Kings County Sheriff’s Office helped the CHP get the car out of the water.
 
Paramedics performed life-saving aid on the female driver, but she died at the scene.
 
It is still unknown if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in this rollover accident, which is under investigation.
