Oceanside DUI Pedestrian Accident Kills One on Oceanside Boulevard

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (February 3, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident in the 3300 block of Oceanside Boulevard on early Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 2:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was walking along the boulevard in traffic lanes at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a minivan heading east struck her. The driver stopped and called 911.
 
As a result, the victim sustained a head injury in the incident. Officers arrived soon after and found her on the other side of the road. She died before she could be taken to a hospital. Officials did not yet release her name pending kin notification.
 
Investigators later determined the 43-year-old driver of the minivan was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Consequently, officers arrested her on DUI charges. At this time, an investigation is still ongoing.
