Fatal Car Accident Reported on Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo

 
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (February 3, 2021) – Police confirmed that a car accident on Highway 1 killed one person on Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Stenner Creek Road around 6:40 PM last January 15.
 
Based on a report, a man was driving a black Toyota Corolla southbound on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it drifted off the roadway. Subsequently, the vehicle crashed into some trees then bounced back into the roadway. On the road, an oncoming Ford pickup truck struck the vehicle.
 
As a result, CALFIRE officials said the driver of the Toyota Corolla died on the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s name pending kin notification. The driver of the Ford pickup truck was not hurt in the incident.
 
It is unclear what led up to the car accident on Highway 1. At this time, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
