Woman Dies in Salinas 3-Car Crash on Highway 68

 
SALINAS, CA (August 8, 2022) — A woman died in a 3-car accident on Highway 68 near Laureles Grade on Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound driver of a Ford minivan intentionally rear-ended a Lexus and a Ford Transit van. Due to the impact, the woman in the Ford minivan subsequently lost control and crossed into the eastbound lanes before crashing down an embankment.
 
Soon after, paramedics and investigators responded to the scene to find the woman in the minivan with fatal injuries. Officials have not released her name. The drivers of the other cars suffered only minor wounds in the crash.
 
At this time, authorities do not know if impairment led to the collision. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm any unclear details.
