Man Killed in Car Crash on Air Expressway in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 8, 2022) — A man died in a car accident on Air Expressway near Nevada Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the multi-car crash happened around 5:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a 25-year-old man operating a 2007 Toyota Corolla tried to pass up another vehicle. While using the opposing lane, the Victorville man collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado and a Kia Soul.
Due to the impact, the Kia rolled over multiple times and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta as the Silverado and Corolla burst into flames.
Soon after, paramedics and police officers responded to the scene to find the 25-year-old Victorville man with major injuries. He died moments later, and authorities have yet to release his name to the public.
As for the 50-year-old man driving the Silverado and 46-year-old woman from Hesperia piloting the Kia, they sustained minor to moderate injuries in the accident.
