SACRAMENTO, CA (January 23, 2023) — A woman in her 40s suffered critical injuries in a bicycle accident on Bayou Way on Thursday, January 19.
 
According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the crash happened at around 6:20 p.m. on Bayou Way near Powerline Road.
 
Crews responded to the scene and discovered a woman who was hit by a vehicle. Paramedics rushed her to a local hospital in critical condition.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol North Sacramento, the bicyclist turned in front of the oncoming car. The vehicle was unable to stop the crash.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
