Woman Killed by Vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (August 5, 2022) — A woman was hit and killed by a car on Pacific Coast Highway at River Avenue on Friday night.
 
According to the Long Beach Police, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a driver in a 2005 Dodge Durango struck a woman while heading westbound on Pacific Coast Highway.
 
It appears the accident occurred as the woman was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and rushed the woman to a hospital, where she died moments later. Authorities have yet to release her name.
 
As for the driver, a resident of Compton, he stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators. However, the liabilities and details of the crash need more investigating. If anyone has more information, call detectives at 562-570-7355.
