Woman Dead, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 12 Avenue near Excelsior Avenue

 
HANFORD, CA (August 31, 2021) — A two-vehicle crash on 12 Avenue left one person dead and two injured on Wednesday, August 25.
 
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Timothy Palmer, the accident occurred at about 3:55 p.m. Wednesday. A 21-year-old woman pulled out of a private driveway west of 12 Avenue onto Excelsior Avenue. Then her vehicle went into the path of a white Ford F-250 pickup truck. As she was getting to the eastbound roadway, the Ford struck her 2012 Jeep Compass on the driver’s side.
 
Medics rushed the 21-year-old by ambulance to Adventist Health in Hanford, where they pronounced her dead. They also airlifted her 15-year-old passenger to Community Regional Medical Center in Downtown Fresno with serious injuries.
 
The driver of the Ford reportedly received treatment at the scene for minor injuries scene. Then they cleared him to go home.
 
Officials continue to investigate if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the crash.
