Vincent Verzosa Dies, Two Hurt in Head-On Crash on Highway 12 near Nuns Canyon Road

 
GLEN ELLEN, CA (September 7, 2022) — A man died following a head-on accident on Highway 12 on Monday, September 5.
 
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 64-year-old Santa Rosa resident Vincent Verzosa.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 2:34 p.m. near Nuns Canyon Road, between Glen Ellen and Kenwood.
 
CHP said a 66-year-old Sonoma man drove a Mercedes sedan that drifted into oncoming traffic. As a result, it collided into Verzosa’s Subaru Outback that overturned after impact.
 
Medics pronounced Verzosa dead at the scene.
 
Medics also rushed a Subaru passenger to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries. The Mercedes’ driver also suffered major injuries.
 
Officials closed Highway 12 for around three hours between Arnold Drive and Dunbar Road during investigation. CHP officials urge anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 707-588-1400.
