Late Evening Head-On Crash on Highway 33 in Fresno County Kills Driver and Passenger

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 24, 2022) – Two people died in a head-on accident on Highway 33 in Fresno County late Friday evening on October 21.
 
The accident happened around 11:04 p.m. at Shaw Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving a Ford going north at an unknown speed with a male passenger. The car drifted into the southbound lane and into the path of a vehicle towing a two-axle flatbed trailer loaded with fertilizer. The vehicles then collided head-on.
 
The impact caused major front-end damage on both vehicles.
 
Both the driver and passenger in the Ford died at the scene.
 
The other driver, 19-year-old Jimmy Saravia of Mendota, reported minor injuries and complaints of pain.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
