Driver Collides with CHP Cruiser and Tow Truck on 91 Freeway in Corona

 
CORONA, CA (August 1, 2022) – Two people sustained injuries in a traffic accident on 91 Freeway in Corona late Friday evening, July 29.
 
The accident happened around 11:40 p.m. just east of Lincoln Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, an officer had pulled their vehicle over on the freeway to assist a tow truck when the driver of a Mazda sedan collided into their cruiser. The sedan then crashed into the tow truck and came to a stop.
 
As a result of the crash, the driver of the sedan suffered serious injuries. Paramedics transported them to a hospital for treatment.
 
The CHP officer had minor injuries. The driver of the tow truck was unharmed.
 
Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
