Police Arrest Manuel Correia for DUI after Fatally Striking 2 Teens in Tulare

 
TULARE, CA (March 15, 2022) – Alondra Gastelum and Sareyna Bejarano died in a DUI crash in Tulare on Sunday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 9:00 pm on March 14, at Blackstone Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. According to the Tulare Police Department, 83-year-old Manuel Correia hit the two victims who were walking in the roadway.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the two girls to Community Regional Medical Center, where Gastelum succumbed to her injuries. She was 18 years old.
 
Bejarano was in critical condition and also died Wednesday. She was 17 years old.
 
Meanwhile, police arrested Correia and booked him into the Tulare County Jail on several charges including driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
At this time, an investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
