Teen Hurt in Alpine Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on South Grade Road

 
ALPINE, CA (February 17, 2021) — A teen was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on South Grade Road near Manzanita View Road Wednesday, February 10.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 19-year-old was walking along South Grade Road around 11:15 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a southbound vehicle struck her from behind.
 
However, the person in the vehicle failed to stop. Instead, the driver took off leaving the woman with major injuries.
 
Soon after, paramedics airlifted the unidentified victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment. Her current condition is unknown.
 
At this time, CHP officers have no information on the vehicle or suspect involved in this hit-and-run crash. If anyone has more information, please call CHP at 619-401-2000.
