Car Accident on Highway 4 in Martinez Kills Teen Driver and Injures Three Passengers

MARTINEZ, CA (November 2, 2021) – A teenage driver died and three teen passengers suffered injuries in a car accident on Highway 4 in Martinez on Monday night.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on November 1 just east of the Alhambra Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver 2011 Honda Accord veered off the roadway before striking a tree.
As a result, the teen driver of the Accord died at the scene. The three teen passengers in the car suffered major injuries and were all taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
