71-Year-Old Stephen Wilson Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Chico

 
CHICO, CA (December 12, 2023) – Authorities identified 71-year-old Stephen Wilson as the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run on East Avenue, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the Chico Police Department, the incident happened on December 10, shortly after midnight. Wilson reportedly attempted to cross the street when a vehicle hit him in the 1500 block of East Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle fled the area without rendering aid. As per reports, investigators later located a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved in the accident. It was found unoccupied in an orchard in Chico.
 
Chico police continue to investigate the fatal incident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
