Man on Skateboard Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Highland

 
HIGHLAND, CA (July 25, 2022) – A 45-year-old man died in a hit-and-run crash on East 3rd Street in Highland early Friday morning, July 22.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:48 a.m. just east of Tippecanoe Avenue. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the man was riding a skateboard in the street when a vehicle struck him.
 
The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene before the deputies arrived.
 
Deputies from the Highland Sheriff’s Station responded and found the man lying in the roadway, unresponsive.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
