Head-On Crash Involving Stolen Truck on Highway 63 in Visalia Kills Teen Passenger

 
VISALIA, CA (July 25, 2022) – A 14-year-old boy was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 63 in Visalia on Friday morning, July 22.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly before 8:00 a.m. just north of Marlin Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 15-year-old boy was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, stolen in Dinuba, south on Highway 63.
 
He drifted onto the shoulder of the highway, made a sharp turn to the left and into the northbound lane hitting a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse head-on.
 
The impact caused both vehicles to crash into a parked 2014 Kenworth.
 
The 14-year-old boy who was a passenger in the rear seat of the Silverado died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
 
The 15-year-old driver of the Silverado, a 14-year-old girl passenger, and the driver of the Traverse were taken to a hospital with major injuries.
 
CHP officials said alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
