Rocklin Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle near Eight and P Streets in Downtown Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 7, 2023) – Shanmugan Pirabarooban was killed in a pedestrian accident in downtown Sacramento Tuesday afternoon on April 4.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 1:40 p.m. near Eight Street and P Street. According to the Sacramento Police Department, Pirabarooban was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused Pirabarooban fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was a 50-year-old Rocklin resident, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
 
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
 
The circumstances of this fatality are still under investigation.
