Several Hurt in San Diego Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 163

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 31, 2022) — Several people sustained injuries in a wrong-way accident on Highway 163 near Friars Road, early Saturday.
 
According to the San Diego Police, the wrong-way crash began on the 15 Freeway. For DUI-related reasons, a driver in a dark-colored sedan started driving south in the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway.
 
Subsequently, the driver continued onto Highway 163 where the driver’s car slammed into a northbound driver near Friars Road. As a result, two more cars became involved, and one of the vehicles flipped over, sustaining severe damage.
 
Shortly after, officers arrived and paramedics tended to the patients who suffered merely minor injuries.
