NAPA, CA (June 14, 2023) — Ronnie Boyd Jr. died in a motorcycle accident on Butts Canyon Road near James Creek Road.
 
According to Cal Fire Sonoma Lake NAPA unit, the fatal motorcycle accident happened Sunday afternoon. For an unknown reason, 51-year-old Ronnie Boyd Jr., of Clearlake, lost control of his 2015 Harley-Davidson. As a result, the motorcycle ran off the 7800 block of Butts Canyon Road and crashed into a creek bed.
 
Investigators learned that he and his 52-year-old wife, Dena Boyd, were heading northbound when it careered down a hillside and overturned.
 
Moments later, First Responders found the wreckage about 50 feet down the road. California Highway Patrol and American Medical Response rescue staff worked to hoist Dena Boyd from the crash site and airlift her to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
 
Ronnie Boyd, however, passed away in the crash. The experienced firefighter who served with Cal Fire for over two decades joined the agency in 2003 and later became a fire apparatus engineer.
 
Authorities do not have any other information about what led to the accident. However, once we receive more news, we will update this report.
