Raul Arzate Killed, Crashes Into Jewelry Shop on 7th Street near Irwin Street

 
HANFORD, CA (July 10, 2023) — Raul Arzate died after crashing into a jewelry store and firing gun shots on 7th Street near Irwin Street.
 
According to Hanford police officers, the deadly incident happened around 2:00 p.m. Thursday. For unclear reasons, an ex-employee of Candice and Co crashed his truck into the jewelry store. As a result, four people suffered injuries. Once the vehicle was inside the store, 49-year-old Raul Arzate began firing shots at people before turning the gun on himself.
 
Paramedics arrived at the scene to find some people with cuts from the shattered glass. However, no one was hit by the gunfire.
 
Arzate who had been with the company for over 20 years passed away in the incident.
 
Officers do not have information on the motive but will investigate this incident further. As for the store, officers say the shop is at a total loss and will require some time to rebuild.
