Florinda De Laureano Hospitalized, Man Fatally Hit by Vehicle in Highway 99 Crash near Pelandale Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (July 10, 2023) — Florinda De Laureano was injured before a fatal accident occurred as a man was struck and killed by a car on Highway 99 near Pelandale Avenue
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a 27-year-old man from Paso Robles was attempting to change lanes from the No. 3 to the No. 4 lane. However, his Toyota struck a 2012 Volvo SUV in the No. 4 lane.
 
The impact caused the 60-year-old Volvo driver, Florinda De Laureano, to lose control and drive off the freeway before stopping.
 
As for the Toyota sedan driver, he continued driving until his vehicle became disabled.
 
After stopping the car, the Paso Robles man reportedly exited his Toyota sedan in an attempt to flag down a driver. However, as he stepped into the traffic lanes, an oncoming 2023 Chevrolet pickup truck struck him.
 
The man passed away in the accident. De Laureano suffered minor injuries in the crash and the Chevy driver reported no injuries.
 
At this time, traffic investigators have not specified if impairment played a role. Although, an investigation into the details should reveal more information.
