MCFARLAND, CA (January 2, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a train accident on Highway 4 northwest of McFarland Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 1:22 p.m. on January 1, at Pond Road. According to California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was either standing or walking on the tracks when a passing train struck them.
 
First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Video showed passengers getting off the commuter train with their luggage.
 
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
