Off-Road Vehicle Crashes into Canyon on Bentley Street Killing 2 and Injuring 1

RIVESIDE, CA (January 2, 2022) – Two people died in an off-road vehicular accident on Bentley Street in Riverside Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. on December 31. According to the Riverside Police Department, a vehicle carrying three people was traveling on a dirt ridgeline road west of the 11300 block of Bentley Street. It hit a large rock, causing the driver to lose control and veer off the side of a hill.
 
The vehicle then fell into a canyon, and two of the vehicle’s occupants were found dead in the car at the bottom of the canyon, police said.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics airlifted the third occupant to Riverside Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors of the crash. Further investigation is underway.
